The most common debt solution is a Consumer Proposal and to qualify for one of these you must meet the following criteria;
- Owe at least $1,000 in unsecured debts
(this can be made up of store cards, credit cards, unsecured loans, catalogue debts, council tax debts or benefit over-payments. We cannot service secured debts such as secured loans or hire purchase agreements. If you have a mix of secured and unsecured debt, you can still apply, you would need to be able to continue paying your secured debts as arranged) - Owe money to at least 1 creditors
- Be able to make a monthly contribution of at least $100 per month towards your debt
- You must live in Canada
